Kathleen and Michael said “I Do” in a beautiful ceremony at TPC.  We loved creating Kathleen’s romantic, sparkle floral vision.

Kathleen’s bouquet was created using roses, stock, ranunculus, lisanthus in ivory, white, and blush colors.  It included accents of dusty miller, Italian ruckus, and wispy foliage.

{The Reception}

The King Table was adorned with vases holding the bouquets and silver votives in between the vases.  This provided beautiful, romatic lighting and sparkle to the table for the bride and groom.

The guest tables had a mixture of tall and low centerpieces.  The tall, lush centerpieces were created with ivory and blush hydrangeas, roses, stock, and snowball mums with touches of dark green foliage.  These stunning arrangments had hanging crystals to add sparkle to the table.

The low centerpieces complimented Kathleen’s bouquets.  There were mercury votive candles around the centerpieces.

One way the romatic fall look was achieved for the receptions was using hanging wreaths above the tables.  The stunning wreaths were created with coral, white, ivory, dark pink, and raspberry flowers accented with dark green foliage.

Wedding Traditions: Bridesmaids

Your best friends who have always been there for you, of course you want them standing next to you on your big day! Bridesmaids are your right hand ladies.  From picking out your wedding dress to wedding showers and bachelorette parties, your bridesmaids are there.  However, that is not what bridesmaids were always for.  Originally, bridesmaids were there for protecting the Bride from evil spirits.  The bridesmaids dressed identical to the bride in order to confuse the evil spirits.  Nowadays, bridesmaids’ dresses are all about fashion.  Some brides choose for their bridesmaids to wear dresses that all look alike while others opt for something different.  So, whichever style you choose just remeber to be thankful for your girls!

Wedding Traditions: The Dress and Veil

Most people think that a bride wears white to represent purity and innocence.  This is true, however, it is not the reason brides started wearing white.  Queen Victoria is credited with the reason brides wear white.  In 1840 when she wed Prince Albert she wore a plain white dress and a trend was started.  Why did she wear white? Simple, she liked it. Before the white trend started brides wore any nice dress they had.

The veil can be traced back to Roman Times.  The Roman Brides were swaddled head to toe in a flammeum, flame colored veil, to scare off evil spirits.  In the 19th century veils covering the hair and face represented the brides modesty. The lifiting of the veil symbolized the bride becoming the groom’s.
